Tata Steel Limited Jamshedpur - Setting Up of TSCR Roll Shop
Tata Steel, Jamshedpur, TSCR Roll Shop project was one of three major projects undertaken by Arcum Group where Arcum (as consortium partner of Tenova – Pomini) was awarded an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contract from Tata Steel. The scope included complete mechanical/structural works, electrical systems, and utilities.
Arcum was responsible for full project execution from basic design till commissioning, with a total fabrication of 289 tons and erection of 2,750 tons required in the project.
Our Role as the Local Supply Partner
As a local supplier, Arcum managed material procurement, storage, and delivery. We coordinated quality assurance and conducted stage inspections throughout the supply chain. Our scope included delivering everything from basic structural components to specialized systems like air conditioning units and hydraulic equipment.

Our Role as a Service / Commissioning Partner
Arcum Engineering served as the comprehensive service and commissioning partner for the Roll Shop at Tata Steel, TSCR project for our principal Tenova – Pomini. This included the erection, testing, and commissioning of critical Roll Shop equipment like roll grinders, automatic loaders, de-chockers, and their supporting systems.
Equipment Installation
- Complete erection, testing and commissioning of roll shop equipment including grinders, loaders, de-chockers, washing machines, and utility systems
Project Management
- Skilled manpower deployment (operators, technicians, supervisors)
- Site management including material handling, storage, and security
- Daily progress monitoring and coordination with customer/consultant
Quality & Compliance
- Implementation of quality standards (WPS, PQR, QAP)
- Conducting cold tests and performance guarantee tests
- Documentation for certification and payment milestones

- The project involved erecting 2,750 tons of equipment, managed end-to-end from installation through to final commissioning and handover.

As the EPC contractor, our team of trained engineers took full responsibility right from equipment installation to testing and plant setup
