Tata Steel Jamshedpur - Erection and Commissioning of Roll Grinders at HSM,CRM & Bara
Context:
Arcum Engineering executed the erection and commissioning of Roll Grinders at the HSM, CRM and Bara of Tata Steel, Jamshedpur. The project was in consortium with our Principal Tenova-Pomini.Scope:
The scope included complete mechanical/structural works, electrical systems, and utilities relating to single roll grinder.Arcum was responsible for full project execution from basic design & engineering till commissioning on EPC turnkey basis.
Our Role As a Local Supply Partner
Arcum Engineering was responsible for local supply of various critical components and infrastructure including:
Electrical
- Installation of electrical panel for roll grinder
- Installation of PDB, UPSDB, MLDB, Welding socket (63A)
- Laying, termination and dressing of all cables, gland, gland plate etc for roll grinder.
- Manufacturing, supply & installation of various cable trays with its support
Mechanical/Structural
- Hydraulic jacks for lifting of inertia blocks of roll grinder.
- Roll racks & pads
- All post embedded parts
- Steel Tank for filtration unit & discharge channel
- Mud tank and pumps
- Stari case & hand railing
- Fencing and gates
- Industrial pipelines for air and water
Our Role as The Commissioning Partner
Arcum Engineering served as the EPC contractor for the installation, testing & commissioning of Roll grinding machine at Tata Steel, Jamshedpur HSM & CRM Bara in association with our principal Tenova-Pomini.
Equipment Installation
- Complete erection, testing and commissioning of roll shop equipment including work roll grinder in HSM and combination roll grinder in CRM Bara.
Project Management
- Skilled manpower deployment (operators, technicians, supervisors)
- Site management including material handling, storage, and security
- Daily progress monitoring and coordination with customer/consultant
Quality & Compliance
- Implementation of quality standards (WPS, PQR, QAP) in accordance with IS & ASME code & standard followed by the guidelines of consultant.
- Conducting cold tests and performance guarantee tests and establish the parameter & performance in line with the contract.
- Documentation for certification and achieving payment milestones as per contract.
Result
- This end-to-end service approach ensured successful commissioning of the Roll Grinders at Tata Steel, Jamshedpur.
